We talk to ourselves all the time… but stop for a second and consider what it is we are saying, or asking.
Much of what we say can be punishing or critical;
“Why am I so bad at X?”
These kinds of questions contribute to disease and bodily breakdown.
When we speak to ourselves, though, about what we want and why we want the kinds of things we want; these generate energy and enthusiasm.
The brain is an amazing organ yet it is rather simplistic as a switchboard/circuit. Ask it a negative question and it will work overtime to find negative answers or reasons.
Ask it an empowering question and it will work equally hard.
The choice is ours.
It can be: “Why am I so bad at…” Or “Why do I want to do…”
As Yogi Berra once said, “When there is a fork in the road; take it.”
